Although a relatively new sport, mountain biking has taken the Lake District by storm. Come rain or shine, you will find mountain bikers enjoying themselves out on the hills - and often covering surprising distances. Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside are the main locations and also offer bike hire and equipment.

For all sorts of cyclists, from beginners to experts, there's an amazing choice of options, with routes ranging from woodland tracks in Grizedale and Whinlatter Forests to challenging climbs and descents, with the summit of Skiddaw being the longest - and not for the faint hearted! You will also find plenty of cafés, restaurants, pubs and hotels on hand to replenish your energy levels.

	THE NAN BIELD PASS ONE-DAY EPIC This one is a high mountain adventure, with the toughest and longest carrying section of any of our routes. For the hardy minority who like to push their limits, the rewards include some of the best descents and scenery in the lakes.
	TOUR OF CONISTON ONE-DAY EPIC 33 miles around the 'Old Man' taking in Walna Scar, Grizedale Forest and the Dunnerdale Fells. On a clear day there's no more beautiful place in the UK than the Lake District, and no more a rewarding route than this one!
